Won’t you Join.me?

February 22, 2011

Do you need to have online meetings but not frequently enough to warrant purchasing a subscription to GoToMeeting? Well, I’ve got news for you there’s a free one out there from the people at LogMeIn. It’s called, cleverly enough, Join.me. (Yes, that’s a .me extension, not a .com extension, so don’t type Join.me.com, because it won’t go anywhere.) (more…)

Verizon finally gets the iPhone, but I’m not buying one.

January 11, 2011

The new’s we’ve all been waiting for! Verizon Wireless will finally be allowed to sell the iPhone. For those of us who wanted an iPhone on a more stable network, this is a dream come true. I think it’s time for Apple to break their contract with AT&T and look to another provider that is not afraid to offer usable internet services. Whatever it would cost them to break the contract would probably be made up in a heartbeat from all of the new customers. I know I would be one of them. (more…)

Two Cool Ways to Access the internet with Verizon Wireless

June 6, 2009

I was just at the Verizon store and came across these two neat items.

The first item is an HP netbook that has Verizon Wireless internet service built in it (it also has regular WiFi access, too). It’s a nice little machine running XP with a gig of memory, an 80gig hard drive, an Intel® Atom™ N270 1.6ghz processor, and a built in webcam. I got to play with it a little bit and it and it was snappy enough to run the the Ajax based wed mail from Nomad Email. (I got to handle a bunch of my email while waiting for the next salesperson, whohoo!) (more…)
